Its surreal
the news these days,
with Donald J. Trump
lighting up the color toning,
slouching toward Bethlehem,
all orange & comb-overed,

feeling important,
as he theatrically
signs off,
on one pledge
after another.

Oh but lord no
its the real world,
& lord yes
it hurts the eyes
& the heart,

oh dearie me
